Maintenance
How to maintain your air conditioner
In short: have the unit installed by a professional, schedule professional maintenance every year and sign a maintenance contract to avoid most breakdowns.

An air conditioner keeps your home cool during hot spells. Like any appliance, it can break down, in which case a professional repair may be necessary. Following a few maintenance tips, however, will save you a lot of hassle.
Common air conditioner faults
Several problems can affect an air conditioner: icing of the unit requires immediate attention from a refrigeration technician or an electrician, while air, liquid or gas leaks around the unit and blocked pipes are common faults that are relatively easy to fix but should not be ignored.
Regular maintenance
A maintenance contract between the owner and the installer provides for annual inspections. Under the decree of March 31, 2010, most air conditioners over 12 kW must be inspected regularly.
Our tips to avoid breakdowns
- Use a professional installer: an unqualified installation reduces the unit's performance and service life
- Sign an annual maintenance contract with a qualified installer
- Avoid using reversible air conditioning as your only main heating system
